This privacy policy describes how the Smart Autofill Pro browser extension (“the Extension”) handles data.

Summary

• Form autofill data is stored locally in your browser.
• We do not operate a backend that collects your presets by default.
• Optional AI fill may send profile fields and unfilled-field clues to OpenAI or Anthropic only when you enable AI and provide your own API key.

Data stored locally

The Extension may store:

• Autofill presets (names, emails, addresses, product listing fields, and similar form values)
• Site-specific field mappings
• UI preferences (such as dark mode and field toggles)
• Optional AI settings (provider, model names, and API keys you paste in)

This data remains on your device unless you export it or enable AI Fill.

Optional AI Fill

If you enable AI Fill and save an API key:

• The Extension may send applicant/product profile fields and descriptions of unfilled form fields to the selected provider (api.openai.com or api.anthropic.com) to suggest answers.
• Your API key is stored in browser storage and is sent only to that provider for those requests.
• You can disable AI Fill or clear keys anytime in Settings → AI Fill.

Permissions

• activeTab / scripting: used to autofill forms and open the field mapper on the page you are interacting with after you click the extension action.
• storage: used to save presets, mappings, and settings locally.
• Host access to AI APIs: used only when AI Fill is enabled.
• Content scripts on http(s) pages: used to detect and fill form fields on websites you visit after you trigger autofill.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Data leaves your browser only when:

1. You use optional AI Fill (sent to OpenAI or Anthropic under their terms), or
2. You manually export or share presets.

Children’s privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
